Grandes Pagos de España (GPE), the leading Spanish association of 35 renowned single estate vineyards known as the “Grands Crus of Spain”, is coming back to Los Angeles in full force!

In this 2-day course (November 11 & December 2), you will be able to taste the 35 wines of all the member wineries for the first time in the USA. Some of these wines are only available in Spain for the moment, and this will be the first time for you to taste the complete line-up that forms this incredible high quality wine association. A complete digital guide with information about all the wineries and wines will be sent to each student before 12/2.

The Terroir Workshop by Grandes Pagos de España is a global education program that aims to present terroir culture on a whole new level.  Each of the two sessions will cover the eight regions of Spain: (Session 1) Green Spain, Meseta North, Ebro River Valley, (Session 2) Rioja, Mediterranean Coast, Meseta Central, Sherry/Andalucia and the Islands, with guided instruction to encompass the impact of history, culture, geography, climate and people on terroir. Students will get comprehensive profiles of GPE wineries to guide their immersion into Spanish Pagos and terroir culture.

The two sessions will be held in person and will include a combination of dynamic presentations and tasting to reinforce learning. Tasting of a total of 35 wines will be a critical component, and as part of the exclusive curriculum, students will taste a wide selection of wines from all 35 GPE member wineries.

Founded in 2000, Grandes Pagos de España is a non-profit association of thirty-five of the most prestigious wineries across Spain. Membership in Grandes Pagos de España is based on rigorous selection criteria for viticulture and winemaking excellence. Grandes Pagos de España aims to defend the unique, terroir-driven personality of single-estate wines, to uphold and promote the ethos of Spanish winemaking, and to produce wines of excellence in harmony with the soil, nature and climate of each vineyard.

Where and time: 9.30pm-4.30pm Saturday 12/2 - Venue in Santa Monica/West Los Angeles area.
